Rum Bar Vibes Fest takes over Port Antonio
Portland’s capital Port Antonio had some excitement last Friday as the Rum Bar Vibes Fest event lit up the eastern town, which attendants enjoying quality entertainment, good music, and a variety of prizes.
The event attracted hundreds of people who witnessed popular disc jockey Bigga 5 in full flight, as he easily charmed and rocked the large gathering, which for most part was somewhat reserved. Host Ketecia ‘TC’ Chatman sought to ignite energy into the large crowd by joining the Rum-Bar Rum dancers in several pieces, which was cheered on by the gathering, who by then was slowly starting to revel in the entertainment.
“I like the vibe and I feel your energy, although I can see clearly that the Portland men and women are a bit shy,” Chatman told the crowd.
“But it’s all about the entertainment and Rum-Bar Rum is here to do just that. I want to big up the women from Sweden, who have joined us and they are really partying and enjoying the music,” she added.
But probably the high point of the festivity was when two Swedish tourists were invited on stage to participate in a dance, which brought about cheers from the gathering, who were obviously eager to see them perform on a dance stage. The many dance moves done by the Swedes had the crowd literally begging for more, as they performed the latest dance moves with utmost ease. They were each rewarded for their efforts with two gift baskets, before exiting the stage to a resounding ovation.
The police, who were on hand to ensure that law and order was maintained, had little to do as the event was incident free.
