My heart is leading me, says KipRich Artiste springs engagement surprise for Kizzy Don

On Tuesday night, the Wavy Boss, KipRich, got down on one knee and, in front of family and friends, proposed to the love of his life, Kizzy Don.

It was a glitzy engagement surprise with all the trappings that was two months in the making, and nobody was more shocked and happy than Kizzy.

“Kizzy cyaan believe how mi plan all of this, and she never have the slightest idea about it. I had to be talking to the decorators and everybody in secret … and nobody spilled the beans,” an excited KipRich told THE STAR.

“I ordered the watch from the jewellers and had it customised … I give them a piece of the money and then go back and gi dem di next piece … it’s her favourite brand,” he said of the jewel-encrusted Cartier watch which he surprised Kizzy with. He described the engagement party, which was hosted at Morgan’s Cliff in St Ann, as “a real joyful moment” which was a dream come true for Kizzy, and praised the decorators for doing a fantastic job.

“Kizzy get so emotional because this is something that she wished for ... and it played out just right. She thought that we were going to a function to meet up with some radio personalities and dine … so that’s why she was so dressed up,” KipRich explained.

In the two years since they have been dating, KipRich and his social media personality girlfriend have been bold about their relationship, which has seen them being caught up in baby mama drama online. And KipRich told THE STAR that he expects more drama, but emphasised that he is steadfastly committed to Kizzy.

“I’ve been on this Earth long enough to know when something is different, and I know when someone is right for me,” KipRich declared. “When we are in each other’s space, the things that we reason about … is just amazing. I have never felt like this with anyone else before. So, when you find what you are searching for, why wait?”

He added, “I expect the criticism, but this relationship was destined to happen, and when the Almighty is in the midst, you can’t go wrong. It is my heart that is leading me in this direction.”

Alluding to the tragic loss of the couple’s first child together earlier this year, KipRich said that after what they went through, he has had an urge to make Kizzy feel safe, loved and protected. In January, their daughter Miracle was born prematurely at six months while the couple was on a work trip in Colombia. She passed away days later. Kizzy has since released a song titled Therapy, in a bid to ease her pain.

“What Kizzy went through wasn’t normal … from the baby born she cry right through. I’ve done everything in my power to keep her happy. She’s naturally a jovial person, and I want to see her real personality shining through again. She says that she won’t be truly happy until she gets a baby, so we will see,” KipRich said.

Regarding an actual date for the wedding, KipRich said that it was not set as yet, but noted that it will be something truly special.
