July 17, 2023

A security guard who allegedly conspired with other persons to steal more than a $1-million's worth of vehicle lubricant from an automotive dealer's storehouse in the Corporate Area made his first appearance last Thursday in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court.

The guard is charged on an indictment for conspiracy to steal and simple larceny. The alleged theft happened on May 22. He is accused of stealing 396 bottles of vehicle lubricant valued at $1,032,025.

The guard did not enter a plea on Thursday before Parish Judge Leighton Morris and is expected to return to court on September 14.

The matter was adjourned until then to allow the accused to settle his legal representation and for the prosecution to obtain the CCTV footage of the alleged incident.
