Three held after illegal gun, ammo found

A woman is among three persons who were taken into custody following the seizure of a firearm and several rounds of ammunition in Farm Pen district, Westmoreland, last Saturday.

Reports from the Savanna-la-Mar police are that between 4 a.m. and 9 a.m., lawmen conducted an operation at an address in the Farm Pen area. A search of the premises led to the discovery of a HS 2000 9mm pistol with an affixed magazine containing twelve 9mm rounds beneath a pillow on a bed.

The firearm was seized and the three persons were taken into custody. Their identities are being withheld pending further investigation.
