Kabaka Pyramid keeps reggae in rotation with summer anthem
Grammy Award-winning reggae artiste Kabaka Pyramid is turning up the volume on reggae’s timeless appeal with the release of his latest single, ‘Rotation’, a vibrant Rub-A-Dub anthem that urges DJs and sound systems around the world to keep the genre at the forefront.
The track follows two well-received solo releases earlier this year and represents the next step in Kabaka Pyramid’s 2026 musical campaign. Produced by acclaimed French producer Fatbabs, known for his work with Naâman, Rotation blends a deep, bass-driven riddim with Kabaka’s signature conscious lyricism, creating a track equally at home in dancehall sessions, sound system clashes, and on international festival stages.
While the song captures the infectious energy and camaraderie of a traditional reggae session, it also carries a deeper purpose. Rotation is a rallying cry for DJs, selectors, and sound systems to continue championing reggae music and preserving its legacy as a source of healing, inspiration, and unity. At a time of global conflict and uncertainty, Kabaka Pyramid believes reggae’s uplifting message is needed more than ever.
“There’s so much going on in the world right now, but I truly believe, if we played more reggae, we’d all be better off,” says Kabaka Pyramid.
“Reggae has always had a healing nature. It brings people together, lifts spirits, and reminds us of our shared humanity. Rotation is my way of encouraging DJs, selectors, and sound systems everywhere to keep that energy alive by keeping reggae in rotation.”
Since winning the Grammy Award for The Kalling, Kabaka Pyramid has cemented his reputation as one of reggae’s leading voices, earning praise for fusing thought-provoking lyrics with musical versatility and socially conscious themes that resonate across generations.
